The Genetic Rhythm production team made up of DJ\Producers Karl Lambert and Tony Pugh who are two veterans of the Dublin dance music scene with residencies in some of Dublin’s most loved clubs including The Pod, Mono, and the Kitchen. This week they make their debut on Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic’s Mistique Digital with their ‘Atmosphere’ single that comes with a stellar remix from fellow Irish producer Soulfinder. Karl and Tony’s original mix starts off with some very unique chords, old school sounding basstones and some very live sounding drums. You get a sense of musicality right away and as the piece builds some simple stabs enter the mix that make this quite a worthy dancefloor tune. This is one of Genetic Rhythm’s first released productions and it’s quite cool. We look forward to hearing more!
Irish producer Soulfinder who is probably best known for his work on Eelke Kleijn’s Outside The Box provides the lone remix on the package. Soulfinder has created a lovely deep groove that is rich in atmosphere with it’s wonderful bells and hazy, hypnotic vibe. The lead chords from the original are present and sound fabulously catchy over Soulfinder’s bubbly bassline. It’s a great interpretation form Soulfinder and a solid package from Mistique Digital.

The up and coming Slovenian producer Ejective makes his debut on Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic‘s Mistiquemusic this week with his ‘Recurring Illusions‘ LP. This will only mark Ejective’s second official release with the first coming last week on Deepsessions with his remix of Franzis-D’s ‘Eternal Egypt’. Ejective’s ‘Recurring Illusions’ is an extremely strong debut LP that’s full of remarkable textures and laid back, hypnotic vibes. The album kicks off with the smooth, flowing lines of ‘Astral Perception’ and ‘Future Unknown’, they have an understated but wonderfully emotional vibe with solid dancefloors grooves as their base. The chugging groove of ‘Magic Senses’ follows, it’s quirky vibe and overall funky, psychedelic feel works amazing well and makes it a great driving number for dancefloor. The spaced out and melancholic ‘Neverending’ leads us to the title cut ‘Recurring Illusions’ with its squelchy synths, warm pads and trippy melodic keys. It’s a massive composition clocking in at over ten minutes and it’s certainly one of the standouts on the album. The sombre ‘Sentient’ follows with it’s lovely wispy atmospheres and warm, dreamy vibe that sounds out of this world. The album beings to wind down with ‘The Last Ancient Sunlight’ which is sure to take you an great journey with more stellar atmosphere and inspiring sounds. The closing piece ‘Will I Dream’ is another mammoth tune clocking in at over ten minutes as well. The tempo is considerably slower and it winds the album down perfectly with its emotional chords and vibrant hypnotic lines. It’s a great start for the production career of Ejective and we can’t wait to hear more!

Francisco Manuel Díaz Estevez aka Franzis-D returns to Deepsessions this week for his first single for the label. His remix of Tolga Diler’s ‘Pitch Black’ back in April certainly got our attention and it has been a tireless year for the up and coming Spanish producer. We are only 5 months into 2011 and Franzis has already racked up 18 releases on labels like Underground City Music and PolyTechnic. His new Deepsessions single in entitled ‘Eternal Egypt’ and it comes with remixes from: AquAdro, Germam LM, Lucas Tesselhoff and Ejective.
The ‘Eternal Egypt’ original starts off with a tough, stomping progressive groove before the spiritual vocal and a short breakbeat section are introduced. As the track develops the vocal opens up and the groove gets tighter for what turns out to be a solid prog cut with good, driving energy.
The Italian duo of Andrea Del Grosso & Antonio Castaldi aka AquAdro provide the first mix. AquAdro has gone with a slightly spacier vibe with some additional synth stabs that work very well and a similar tough groove like the original.
Argentinean producer German LM is up next and he come up with a great compliment to the package with a deeper interpretation. He’s softened the vocal up quite a bit with some great effects and a gate. His unique hypnotic lead really adds a new unique element to the track as well. Great remix from German LM.
Lucas Tesselhoff who also hails from Argentina provides the next mix and he’s gone with a much more minimal, techno inspired approach. A punchy kick an driving groove root the track while some great sound work their magic over the top. As the track progresses Lukas makes great use of the vocal and keeps the groove minimal and interesting with his unique and fresh sound design. Cool remix and a very worthy alternative to the more progressive versions on the package.
Slovenian producer Ejective is fresh to the scene and he makes his production debut with a remix here to close out the package. Ejective has come up with a deeply hypnotic and thought provoking mix with its melancholic overtones and smooth overall feel. With a forthcoming album on Mistique, Ejective is certainly a producer to keep a close eye on over the next several months. A well rounded and top release as usual for Deepsessions.
