Jerry Chiu, A&R for Sedna Recordings, and co-owner of Pure.FM, first sparked interest in EDM in the early 90s listening to such tunes as Jam & Spoon - Stella, Transformer 2 – Pacific Symphony, The Orb - Fluffly Little Clouds and many more. These warm atmospheric and inspiring tunes have been real influential to the style he fancy’s today. After many years of being a loyal listener of underground dance music, he decided to take DJing upon himself. His sets can be best described best as summery and melodic with a positive vibe. As a local San Francisco Bay Area DJ he has played at one of the top US clubs, Ruby Skye, as well as other local clubs, and many other smaller venues and underground parties. Some of the headliners he’s played along side so far have been Solar Stone, Airbase, Mike EFEX, Vibrasphere, and Fatali. As an A&R for Sedna Recordings, he searches for the top and upcoming talent in the progressive house/progressive trance genre that’s more oriented for the club goers. Tasadi, Alucard, Probspot, Allende, Noel Sanger, Nhato, Michael Badal and J-Soul, are among some of the artists that have been featured on the label as well as being top charted on Beatport. Jerry plans on starting his own label later this year in 2010, to showcase more of the unknown producers that he believes will be an uprising in the progressive scene. The goal here is to share the love and passion for quality music and to reach a wider audience. He will continue his heart and soul for the music as a DJ, and hopes his new label will make an impact on the scene in the coming years.
