Begining in 1989 the journey of François-Pierre R.-Legendre aka Jim_Star into the electronic music world started with the discovery of EBM (Front 242, Skinny Puppy). The work of Yello and the early goa/psy sound where also in the first influences to catch his attention. He also started to produce his own music that same year building beats and melodies with the family computer. In the early 90's François started to produce events being the first to put the "rave" scene in action in his home town of Chicoutimi. Jim_Star developed an open-minded approach to electronic music and played almost all styles ranging from the deepest chilled out dub to the harder sounds of hardcore and drum n' bass. His dj career allowed him to share stage with artists like Preach, Tsuyoshi Suzuki, Marco G, Alex Axx Koss, Manu Le Malin, Sid Shanti, Nigel Richards, Philgood, Dino Psaras, Mapiu & Nash, Jimmy Savard, Christian Smith, Holosound and many other great talents. He also had the chance to play at some of Quebec's top clubs and afterhours including the legendary Playground and Aria in Montreal as-well as the world famous Dagobert night club in Quebec city. Since he began Jim played in front of all kinds of crowds, from intimate lounges and private partys to gigantic raves and festivals. Involved in event production since the early days he participated in the organisation of multiple raves, club nights and festivals in his native Saguenay area and in and arround Quebec city. His sound is more into the realms of tech-house, techno and progressive these days with some break beat chunks here and there. He is also busy working with Monique Musique as strategic marketing, booking and co-owner of the label. In 2005, he started the Alice Management agency which is now working with djs all around the world. The tracks to be released on his new project No Sound Music are already getting support from top players. Thankes to the many successfull projects in wich Jim_Star is implicated, the future is bright for this fast rising star on the buisness and musical sides.
