Selami was born on the sun-drenched hills of Turkey in 1974. In his early teens music began to play a larger and larger part in his life and blossomed completely in the early 1990's when electronic dance music grabbed hold of him and refused to let go. By the time of his university schooling he was thriving on artists such as Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, and the epic trance master BT. Combining tastes of deep, funky, and emotional house woven together with elements of trance music is what brings him musical happiness. This tapestry of sound is a trademark of his work and is evident on his mixes, which have been broadcast on internet radio giant friskyradio.com, amongst others, and has garnered him much love and support.

For his next endeavor Selami will be hosting his own monthly show on Frisky titled "Absence of Fragments." With each set prepared lovingly like a good meal containing a balance of color, texture, and taste Selami hopes to share a unified diet of music to a worldwide audience eager to escape the "fast food" mentality of pop music. The hectic nature of our daily lives leaves us feeling scattered and drained both physically and emotionally, or to put it another way fragmented! "Absence of Fragments" is about sharing good music, good feelings, and finding the time to appreciate this music the way Selami does. And hopefully regaining some sense of wholeness, thus achieving our own "Absence of Fragments."
