Its extremely important to provide new players with an easily understandable tutorial, but having just tried the tutorial I find it very hard to understand (havent been able to finish it). I have seen videos of people doing this then the objective changes to something else. If the resource is not in your inventory, then you should have a blue hologram that you can hover over to find out what you are missing (in this case, collect more Compound).
