Thanks for the great photos and instructions..........I'll make an effort and, if I end up with a plie of parts......I'll take the pile tpo my local gunsmith for re-assembly............he say's he gets a few ea year to re-assemble. Follow these simple steps to disassemble and reassemble the Marlin Model 336-Series rifles, as well as the Model 444 and the post-1972 Model 1895. Then slide the rear band off the forearm wood and the barrel, and tilt the forearm down and remove it.

This is the time to check and be absolutely certain there is not a cartridge in the barrel’s chamber. Move the breech bolt (#2) all the way to the rear and out of the receiver, then lift out the ejector (#14) from inside the opening the bolt just came from. Works very well in the "take down" mode.
