The Marlins do seem to be more inherently accurate than the Rugers as well.
All those stupid C-clips to launch across the room when doing a detail strip. The e-clips tend to fly off into the wild blue yonder on even the more experienced among us, and roll pins need to be replaced every two or three disassemblies of a Beretta 9x pistol. Investment casting is cheaper than machining. Of course the real horror of them is if you have to reassemble the mechanism group. I love both of the ones I have now and all the others I’ve had. I love my Marlin Glenfield 60. Most people seem to get good accuracy out of the Marlin 60. What Is A PCP Air Rifle? It features a black synthetic stock and an 18-in barrel with a twist rate of 1:16”. Yeah, there are plenty of options when it comes to .22 rifles and more seem to hit the market every day. I've always liked the Marlin model 60. i know bolt guns usually shoot 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards. When it was introduced it was the great equalizer, the everyman’s solution to perforating paint cans and sending cottontails to bunny Valhalla. But there are a few things that set these two guns apart. The second thing that set these firearms apart is the weight. Gold tone trigger and trigger guard, 1961 - 1964, Marlin Model 99C - Similar to 99, but Micro Groove barrel and only trigger was gold tone. I searched and came up with zero tips for accurizing this rifle. I’ve replaced a broken feedthroat and I’m about to replace the broken plastic buffer piece. I love my 60s except all but one had the stock break at the back of the action. I’m learning things here.
Trigger does suck, but you get used to it with practice. But only the Model 60 is still in production. And it’s gritty, and the travel is long, and it stacks, and you may even be able to hear springs creaking when you pull it. For quite a while, I didn’t know what the not-cheap kind of gun innards even looked like.
As for cleaning, there’s good news and bad news. In addition, you can now choose from several aftermarket hunting tactical stocks for the Model 60.
It’s probably one of the earliest models, I’m sure. There is no way to preload extra tube magazines. This gun doesn’t seem to mind running a little dirty. Ouch… Missed the target completely. ! Case failures like this are very rare, but somehow I made it happen. But which rifles are approved for these shooting events? I must have gotten lucky as they eat whatever I feed them… but Winchester Wildcat were their staple diet when they were available. However, reloading the tubular magazine is an awkward process and the trigger is pretty rough.
