Dark, gritty, and melodic. These are the words the words most would use to describe Chad Hardcastle’s sound.

Refusing to follow the latest trend, Chad’s goal has always been destroy genre boundaries whilst writing emotional music that takes the listener on a journey. The Canadian native had his first release in 2009 on Mario Ochoa’s Avenue Recordings imprint which garnered support of some of the industries biggest artists. From there he continued crafting his sound until being approached to remix Sunsvision’s “Rainy Moments” track on Unearthed Recordings. This remix propelled him into the Canadian Progressive scene with support from Markus Schulz, Dash Berlin, M.I.K.E, Matt Darey and more.

On the performance side of things, Chad has always maintained a “darker” more progressive sound. Garnering popularity thanks to residencies with Transmission and Union Events which saw Chad rise to the forefront of the local Calgary scene opening for many major act’s such as Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Paul Van Dyk, Above & Beyond, Sander Van Doorn, Avicii, W&W, Marc Marzenit, Danny Howells, Jimmy Van M Darin Epsilon and many more.

In 2012 Chad founded Vivid North Records, a Canadian record label with a focus on emotional, deep and dark dance music. With support from some of the industries biggest Techno, Progressive House and Deep House artists, the label has grown from strength to strength with multiple Beatport Top 100 Progressive House releases alongside many successful club events under the “We Are Vivid” event name.

2017 has seen Chad and Vivid North grow exponentially with multiple Beatport Top 100 Progressive House releases, the labels 5th anniversary, and the 5th year anniversary of his “We Are Vivid” residency at Habitat Living Sound in Calgary, AB, Canada.
