Marc is the Co-Founder of Subcode Underground Radio, Phunkt Resident and Co-Founder of Psykotik Promotions! Marc has been part of the underground music scene for over 2 decades, however, like many, Marc’s journey into music started at a very young age thanks to his parents, who held love for Electronica and progressive rock and had an extensive record collection he would often be found lost in.
By age of 14, Marc was part of the early underground rave movement sweeping the UK and he began to go to numerous events where he discovered an interest in the technical and creative expression of DJing. Marc then purchased his first turntables and began to collect records, mainly Jungle and electronica. Marc’s style refined through years of practice and his love of LTJ Bukem and Jean-Michel Jarre, led him to incorporate the deeper synth sounds into his sets. It was here that Marc discovered his love for all things house. Ministry of Sound, Global Underground, Renaissance’ outputs, including the world acclaimed Northern Exposure series, impacted his style deeply and Marc soon became familiar with artists such as Sasha, John Digweed, Brothers in Rhythm, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Paul Oakenfold to name a few. By now Marc was a fully-fledged “Bedroom DJ”.
Marc grew restless of the “bedroom” tag and began hosting a successful night, Psykotik, with his close friends. Psykotik, ran for over 7 years and attracted various global headline acts from the underground scene. It was here Marc was recognised as a tour de force in both Progressive House and Jungle and through various links entered into a longstanding residency in the legendary Lakota Club in Bristol. Marc remained in this residency for 6 years playing Techno, Jungle and Dark Progressive House alongside some of the scene’s largest acts, cementing his place firmly in the Bristol DJ collective and becoming known as one of the hardest working DJs in his circles. Marc has since ensured he keeps busy playing various clubs and festivals and radio stations up and down the UK, including Motion in Bristol, Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff and Brixton Academy as well as holding a residency in The Flourmill Blackwood for Phunkt, where Marc has played alongside Dave Mills(Cool House), Lexicon Avenue, Aubrey Fry, Mia Aurora, Lisa Lashes, Anna Savage, Fergie, DJ Lomas, Cally, Lab 4, Mogz-E, Diction DJ, D.A.V.E the Drummer, Chris Liberator, Ultrabeat, Ian Van Dahl to name a few.
Marc has also been an active part of the UK party scene where he has played some of the largest parties in the UK alongside some of the rave scenes own legends, including Vandal U.K., T-Menace, Ratpack, Mampi Swift and is known for his lively underground sets.
In recent years, Marc has refined his style further to create the classic dark progressive sound he has become loved for, but is one of the most versatile DJs out there, able to lend his hand towards Progressive House, Melodic and Hypnotic Techno, Hard Techno, Hardtek and Jungle. Not to be confused as a “jack of all trades” Marc has spent years focusing on his Kraft and with such varied tastes, is always keen to explore new sounds!
Marc is a prime example of how hard work, determination, honesty and positive energy can pay off and has grade A performance reputation across the U.K. and within his musical
Circles.
