New York City’s Tim Robert is a musician, producer, DJ and vocalist with a lifetime of experience as a music maker. He has had productions released on labels such as Suffused Music, Clinique Recordings, Asymmetric Recordings, Massive Harmony Records and Just Movement. As a live DJ, Tim has played at NYC clubs such as Output, Cielo, Pacha, TBA and The Paper Box, and has shared bills with top-tier artists such as Hernán Cattáneo, Cid Inc., Guy Mantzur and Marcelo Vasami. Tim’s live sets aim to create an electrifying, hypnotic atmosphere with powerful, danceable grooves.
Originally a rock musician, Tim toured and recorded with bands in the northeast U.S. in the late 80s and early 90s. He then wrote music and lyrics for rock theater in the late 90s and early 2000s, seeing four of his musicals produced in Boston and New York. During this time, Tim developed a great love of synthetic textures and often used synthesizers in his music. At first a fan of electronic bands such as Chemical Brothers and Underworld, Tim’s musical world was turned upside down when he saw Sasha and Digweed at the legendary NYC club Twilo. Inspired by the power and sonic adventurousness of electronic dance music, Tim began to follow progressive DJs such as Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo while he continued writing rock music. Ultimately, Tim’s love for electronic music led him to devote himself entirely to electronic music production and DJing, which brings us to today. Now fully devoted to producing and DJing, Tim intends to continue his quest to bring the same inspiration through his own music that he found at the hands of the great masters of classic progressive house.
